This IT manager’s job-to-be-done analysis is crucial to understanding the adoption of IT technology. Sustaining IT products do not sell themselves even if they are superior. As an IT non-manager, I’m definitely seeing iPads in the field in personal use among my customers. I’m already hearing complaints that it won’t do everything they want, particularly with regards to presenting things on projectors from the device (which means they’re expecting a lot out of it — it’s not just a toy). I’m actually kind of excited about this shit for the first time in years.
