» The case for meat eating
Kottke: “From the Guardian, a review of a book called Meat: A Benign Extravagance by Simon Fairlie. In it, Fairlie argues that meat production isn’t actually that inefficient when done properly and veganism as an ethical response leaves something to be desired.”
As a onetime semi-vegan of dubious ethical commitment, I feel it’s only fair to link to this rebuttal of one of the core arguments for veganism, that meat production is 5-10 times as costly as plant food production. Besides, this argument sounds quite reasonable.
